James Robinson has gone from largely undrafted to a top-five fantasy RB
I have lots of tiny deviations from the ECR (Expert Consensus Rankings) when it comes to my Week 13 fantasy running back rankings. However, a few spots down here, a few up there is not enough to really highlight any particular player this week. And since we are now two-thirds of the way through the season, I thought I would take a look back at some of my early-season predictions, specifically my "5 Under-the-Radar Running Backs to Target."
I'm a bad news first kind of guy, so let's start with Lamar Miller. I swung and missed. It's not the first time I've been wrong on a New England RB and it won't be the last. But boy did I miss that call.
I was only slightly better on Duke Johnson. I said he should "easily" catch 50 balls and score a handful of touchdowns. He has 20 receptions and a couple of TDs. He still has a chance to hit those marks, but it won't happen "easily." Meanwhile, I also predicted Latavius Murray to have five touchdowns or more this year as well. He has four so far. I'm feeling pretty confident about that prediction, but as long as Taysom Hill is the Saints QBs, the RBs on that team are far less valuable.
I also liked La'Mical Perine and let's just call this an incomplete due to him currently sitting on injured reserve. I still think he can be a valuable asset, but I don't think it's happening in 2020.
But I saved the best for last. I was all over James Robinson and all he has done so far is put up the fourth-most PPR fantasy points for RBs this year. I think that was a pretty good call.
