Just when you thought there was some clarity with the Rams RB situation, 2020 stepped in to muddy things up
There is a glaring omission at the top of my Week 16 fantasy football running back rankings.
It's an obvious one. I would be shocked to see any other conscious expert ranker to have included this player in any place of prominence in his or her rankings as well. But that doesn't make the absence of Cam Akers from the RB rankings any less glaring. I'll be honest--I don't even have any shares of Akers in any one of my seasonal leagues. Yet my heart still goes out to his owners who were looking forward to having him for this week.
And people in my family think I lack empathy. Humph. Anyway, my personal issues aside, the fantasy world will be without Akers this week. For that matter, we will be without Raheem Mostert (whom I do have shares of) too. But Jeff Wilson's stock was rising before last week's game, while Darrel Henderson Jr.'s and Malcolm Brown's were bottoming out.
Not any more!
Don't ask me which Ram will get more carries. I honestly don't know. But both are definitely top-40 RB candidates again this week. Seattle is giving up the ninth-most fantasy points to RBs this season. I also think Sean McVay is not interested in getting into a shootout between Russell Wilson and his QB, Jared Goff. In other words, I'd expect a heavy dose of running from the Rams this week.
It's just too bad Akers won't be a part of it.
