Running Back Rankings: NFL Fantasy Week 2

Cordarrelle Patterson, Atlanta Falcons

Cordarrelle Patterson notched another TD in Week 1 but is an RB2 for Week 2.

In Week 1, the top fantasy running backs performed well. Saquon Barkley and Jonathan Taylor were the top two RBs, depending on league scoring. However, there were some surprises as well. Kareem Hunt outscored Nick Chubb (and it wasn't close). Cordarrelle Patterson continued his 2021 campaign as wide receiver-turned-running back with 120 rushing yards and a touchdown in Week 1. Patterson is ranked No. 24 for Week 2 as his role isn't likely going to continue as a bell-cow back.

Running backs climbing the ranks include Dontrell Hilliard, who had two touchdowns on three receptions in Week 1. This rushing offense still belongs to Derrick Henry, who should have a better week in Week 2, but Hilliard should be rostered in PPR formats. Another running back situation to monitor is with San Francisco following Elijah Mitchell's knee injury. Jeff Wilson Jr. is ranked No. 32 and rookie Jordan Mason is No. 57. Tyrion Davis-Price is below him. How this offense shakes out is anyone's guess but Mitchell won't be back for two months.
