Stud Wide Receivers to Use in Week 4 DFS Contests

These elite wide receivers will help boost your score on DraftKings and FanDuel.

The top 10 wide receivers heading into Week 3 scored fewer than 20 points, leading to a correction in their scoring averages. Stefon Diggs (28.47 fantasy points) and Cooper Kupp (14.40 fantasy points) still rank first in PPR wide receiver scoring. Marquise Brown (28 fantasy points) jumped to ninth after catching 14 of his 17 targets for 140 yards. Tyreek Hill (5.30 fantasy points) and Justin Jefferson (4.40 fantasy points) were the busts of the week at the top end of the player pool.

Here is the list of the top five scoring wideouts in Week 3:

· DeVonta Smith (30.90)
· Mack Hollins (30.00)
· Marquise Brown (28.00)
· Russell Gage (25.70)
· Zay Jones (24.50)

Eight other wide receivers scored more than 20 fantasy points. After three weeks, three wideouts have scored more than 40 fantasy points in a game (no running backs), and eight others finished with at least 30 fantasy points in a game (four running backs have reached this level as well).

Week 4 Positional Rankings: QB I RB I WR I TE I DST I K I Flex

Stefon Diggs,  Bills (DraftKings – $8,400/FanDuel – $8,700)

I expect daily gamers to run to the window and place many investments on Diggs against the Ravens. He already has two impact games (8/122/1 and 12/148/3) while averaging 11.3 targets. Miami held him to seven catches for 74 yards despite Josh Allen attempting 63 passes. Baltimore ranks last in defending wide receivers (56/842/5 on 87 targets), with much of the damage coming vs. the Dolphins’ top two players (Tyreek Hill – 11/190/2 and Jaylen Waddle – 11/171/2). DeVante Parker also beat the Ravens for five catches for 156 yards on 10 targets. Diggs does much of his work over the short areas of the field, inviting a chance at double-digit catches with a score. He should kick down the door in fantasy points if he hits on a long touchdown.

Cooper Kupp,  Rams (DraftKings – $9,900/FanDuel – $9,400)

Kupp saw his streak of catching at least five balls end at 23 games against the Cardinals. He has a touchdown in nine straight games (26 scored over his previous 21 starts). Kupp gained more than 100 yards in all three of his starts vs. the 49ers in 2021 (11/122, 7/118/1, and 11/142/2). However, his yards per catch thus far (10.0) remains below his 2021 (13.4) rate. San Francisco had minimal problems defending the Bears (4/99/2), Seahawks (14/148), and Broncos (11/141) wideouts. The 49ers play well vs. the run (84/236/2 – 2.8 yards per rush), suggesting that the Rams air the ball out to win the game. Kupp needs a 10/120/2 type game to be worthy of his high salary.

Deebo Samuel, 49ers (DraftKings – $7,800/FanDuel – $7,700)

After three games, Samuel is the 31st-ranked PPR wide receiver (41.20 fantasy points). His production has been consistent (2/66/1, 5/97, and 5/79) while averaging seven targets and 5.7 rushes. In 2021, he scored 20.07 fantasy points per game, highlighted by four impact games (32.90, 35.70, 30.30, and 28.10 fantasy points). In his last three starts vs. the Rams, he gained 369 combined yards with four touchdowns and 13 catches. Los Angeles must contain him in the run game, but wide receivers already have 56 catches for 667 yards and five touchdowns against them. Samuel is a beast, and he looks poised to be more active in this matchup.
