We will get to the rest of my Week 11 fantasy tight end rankings, but let's get this out of the way first. George Kittle is back, baby! Both the ECR (Expert Consensus Rankings) as well as myself have him as the second overall TE this week behind Travis Kelce. He should be a top-five TE the rest of the season. End of story.
The more interesting observation is my ranking of Evan Engram this week. The ECR has him in the second dozen, but I got him as a fringe TE1 in a 12-team league this week.
Why? First off, Engram was on bye last week, so he should be coming in well-rested. Secondly, he scored a touchdown in two straight games before the bye. He is showing some definite chemistry with Daniel Jones. Third, the Giants wide receiver corps is still a little banged up. Don't be surprised if on Monday night Engram sees the five-plus targets he's averaging, at minimum.
One of the better ways to beat the Tampa Bay defense is with tight ends. They are giving up the eighth-most fantasy points per game to opposing TEs this season. They also have given up four touchdowns to the position. So even if Engram doesn't score, he should still give his owners a nice little floor.
Engram is not going to be up there with Kittle and his fellow elite TEs. But am I not afraid to be a little edgy and therefore do I see him cracking the top dozen this week? Yes. Yes, I do.
