Make sure George Kittle's knee sprain isn't too much of an issue before plugging him into your lineup this week
Given my affinity for George Kittle, there should be little surprise that once again he's atop the fantasy tight end rankings for Week 2. But that's not just the heart, but the head too. Let's assume that Kittle and Travis Kelce are equal part studs. Whom would you rather them face — the New York Jets or the Los Angeles Chargers defense? That's why Kittle is your top option this week, case closed, but just make sure he's showing no ill effects from the knee injury (sprain) he suffered this past Sunday. His practice time will likely be limited but as long as he's progressing towards playing, you have to start him.
There's also a new horse in the TE1 rankings and that is Logan Thomas. He caught four of eight targets for 37 yards and a touchdown, out-targeting every other Washington pass catcher except Terry McLaurin. With the up-tempo Arizona Cardinals offense next on the docket, Washington will likely be forced into a high-scoring game and/or find themselves playing from behind. Either of these options leads me to believe that Thomas will have another strong showing worthy of any of the top dozen TEs this week.
On the flip side is the Cleveland Browns situation. You'll notice no David Njoku in the rankings as he was placed on injured reserve with a knee injury. I was very tempted to move Austin Hooper up but I want to see Baker Mayfield rebound before I bump up any of his pass catchers.
