So the TE1s of my Week 3 fantasy tight end rankings look pretty similar to most other experts' rankings. Even my TE2s look pretty similar until we get to about 20th and we see a name that might raise an eyebrow or two: Dan Arnold.
Arnold has never been a top-20 fantasy TE and he is yet to be this year. Heck, he's not even in the top 25 right now. So why the love?
The top reason is that this week the Panthers will be clawing at the Houston Texans, who are the fourth-most generous team when it comes to allowing fantasy points to TEs. Arnold also is coming off a decent Week 2 too, having caught three passes for 55 yards. And finally, I just have this gut feeling about it this week, but "Darnold to Arnold" is fun to say too!
Arnold is not the only TE I like much more than the ECR (Expert Consensus Rankings). I still believe that Anthony Firkser can be a weapon for the Titans and should be this week if he plays.
I know he has been pretty quiet so far this season, but you can often throw the seasonal trends out the window when teams have a divisional battle like the Titans do against the Colts this weekend. Despite my elevation of him, I still have Firkser ranked outside of the top 25 TEs, so don't go crazy. But keep him on your radar and he might be a worthwhile cheap DFS play.
