Could my Week 8 fantasy tight end rankings look any more normal? Okay, I got Jonnu Smith ranked a few spots higher than the Expert Consensus rankings, but I think the ECR is too often influenced by recency bias. And Smith is facing the Bengals this week. Cincinnati has given up the third-most fantasy points per game to TEs this year. I expect Smith to have similar success.
But with Travis Kelce and George Kittle atop the TE rankings, things look ridiculously normal. Normal will be a poor description however to describe the outputs that those two studs have in Week 8. Kelce and Kittle are playing the Jets and Seahawks, respectively. Do I really need to explain why I am expecting big things from those two tight ends? Let's just say that the days of Revis Island and the Legion of Boom are but a memory.
I do also like Darren Waller this week, but not as much as I liked him last week when he responded with half a dozen catches, including a score. Either way, this should be a big week for many of the top tight ends. If you want an under-the-radar, sneaky pick consider the Eagles' Richard Rodgers. Both the Eagles top two TE options are likely out this week and Rodgers will be facing the Cowboys, who have given up the ninth-most fantasy points to TEs this year.
Teams on bye: Arizona, Houston, Jacksonville, Washington
