Jason Witten is a top-15 fantasy TE this season and has had great success against the Giants
Week 9 is not one of those weeks where my fantasy tight end rankings closely follow the expert consensus rankings. I have at least three tight ends I like more than half a dozen spots higher than the consensus.
I like Hayden Hurst more than others, but he's still only my No. 24 TE this week. And I know that my fantasy football love for Dawson Knox is a little irrational. However, I am shocked that I like Jason Witten that much more than other experts.
The previously retired future Hall of Famer has at least four targets every single week this season. That's not Austin Hooper (who's on a bye) territory, but definitely TE1 volume. And Witten has not only owned the Giants over the years, but in recent history as well. He has scored a touchdown each of the last three times he has faced them, including earlier this year. Throw in the fact that the Giants are 25th in the NFL in passing yards allowed per game (264.4) and I am perplexed that Witten is not a TE1 this week in the eyes of the experts.
Teams on bye: Atlanta, Cincinnati, Los Angeles Rams, New Orleans
