Fantasy Football Cheat Sheet: Early Top 300 Rankings

Saquon Barkley went second in April's draft. How soon should you take him in fantasy drafts?

New Orleans Saints RB Alvin KamaraThe NFL draft is over, teams have already moved into the next part of their programs and the big boys like ESPN, Yahoo! and others have already unveiled their early fantasy football rankings so why should Athlon Sports miss out on the fun? Now that the rosters are even more fleshed out with the addition of draft picks and other moves, this is as good a time as any to revisit and expand our positional rankings.

This is not the final set of rankings, but it's never too early to start looking ahead and start your draft preparation. Aside from Saquon Barkley, the 2018 draft class features several other intriguing running backs, but each carries plenty of uncertainty along with their respective potential.

No rookie is ever a sure thing, and I tend to rank them according to this mindset. Sometimes it's the wrong approach (see Alvin Kamara last season) while other times it is correct (I was not high on Samaje Perine, who by and large disappointed).

Either way, this is just another reminder that the 2018 fantasy football season will be here before you know it. These rankings will be updated throughout the summer as part of the fantasy content you can expect to find here at AthlonSports.com.
