Week 2 Wide Receiver Picks for DFS Contests on DraftKings and FanDuel

These wide receivers are expected to have big games in Week 2 and have relatively low DFS salaries.

Finding a low-value hookup is a big part of winning in the daily fantasy games. In Week 1, Carson Wentz and Curtis Samuel combined for 63.05 fantasy points at DraftKings with a salary of $9,700. They delivered an outcome of 6.5 times for each $1,000 invested. Plays like this create edges in salary cap reliefs and scoring.

Week 2 Positional Rankings: QB I RB I WR I TE I DST I K I Flex

Here’s a look at three possible low-priced wide receivers in Week 1:

Amari Cooper, Cleveland Browns (DraftKings – $5,400/FanDuel – $6,300)
The Browns want to run the ball well and play at a high level defensively. This combination, paired with Cleveland playing with a backup quarterback, sets a low bar for Cooper in receiving production in most contests. In Week 1, he finished with only three catches for 17 yards on six targets. He did have a chance to make one big play, but his timing was off with Jacoby Brissett. The Jets gave up three passing touchdowns to Baltimore with eight catches for 132 yards on 14 targets. A 6/60/1 type week is required for Cooper to pay off.

Drake London, Atlanta Falcons (DraftKings – $5,200/FanDuel – $5,600)
With the Falcons expected to chase on the scoreboard, London should be active in Week 2. He missed much of the last three weeks of the preseason with a knee issue. Atlanta had him on the field for 72 percent of their plays against the Saints and he responded to catch five of his seven targets for 74 yards. London brings size (6’4” and 215 lbs.) that should play well in scoring. The Rams had the worst wide receiver defense in Week 1 (17/257/3) due to playing against the dynamic Josh Allen, Stefon Diggs, and Gabe Davis. London has the talent and opportunity to be the best rookie wide receiver in 2022. A part-time date with CB Jalen Ramsey isn’t ideal, but he can overcome this potential matchup with reception volume.

Adam Thielen, Minnesota Vikings (DraftKings – $5,600/FanDuel – $5,900)
Justin Jefferson was open on almost every play last week, leading to Thielen posting an empty game (3/36 on four targets). This week, the Eagles should focus on slowing down Jefferson with CB Darius Slay and secondary help on many plays. If so, Thielen should see a significant jump in chances. He scored seven of his 10 touchdowns on the road last year. Philly finished 21st defending wide receivers (13/144/2 on 23 targets) against the Lions in Week 2. This game should be played at a high-scoring pace, giving Thielen a reasonable chance of scoring.
