Fantasy owners need to be aware of many players on the injury report ahead of Week 5. Wide receivers already ruled out include: Davante Adams, A.J. Green, DeSean Jackson, Christian Kirk, John Ross, Taylor Gabriel, and Parris Campbell. Don't forget to check out the WRs you need to know about for the 1 p.m. ET games and some key RB injuries.
Only two teams are on bye (Detroit Lions, Miami Dolphins), so hopefully, fantasy owners have enough options on their bench to allow them to field a complete lineup. Be sure to check the inactive reports before the game if you are planning on starting one of these wide receivers.
Teams on bye: Detroit, Miami
Note: All games are on Sunday, Oct. 6 and times are ET.
T.Y. Hilton (quad), WR, Indianapolis Colts at Kansas Chiefs, 8:20 p.m.
Hilton was missed in Week 4 when he sat out with the quad injury. He has four touchdowns in the three games he's played, but it's going to be hard if he's limited. The Colts have a bye in Week 6, so it's certainly possible that Hilton is limited in Week 5. The Chiefs have a tough secondary, so Hilton has a tough matchup ahead of him.
Sammy Watkins (shoulder/hamstring), WR, Kansas City Chiefs vs. Indianapolis Colts, 8:20 p.m.
It's not clear which ailment is causing Watkins the most issues, but he was downgraded in practice on Friday, which is never a good sign. Unfortunately for fantasy owners, he may come down to a game-time decision. The game isn't until Sunday night, so fantasy owners will need to have other plans. Watkins is a vital part of the Chiefs' offense; fantasy owners should pay attention to any reports on him leading up to game time.
Mike Williams (back), WR, Los Angeles Chargers vs. Denver Broncos, 4:05 p.m.
Williams was able to get in some practice time this week and he seems on track to play in Week 5 after missing Week 4. The Chargers will likely welcome him back as it is not clear if Travis Benjamin will play and Dontrelle Inman is now on injured reserve. Williams immediately becomes a WR3 with the potential to be a WR2. Keenan Allen is still the clear No. 1, but Williams will certainly have a role.
Michael Gallup (knee), WR, Dallas Cowboys vs. Green Bay Packers, 4:25 p.m.
After missing Weeks 3 and 4, Gallup was able to put in limited practices this week. It seems like he will be active for Week 5, but he will likely still be limited. He's not fully healthy, but Devin Smith isn't really filling his role. The Packers' secondary is much better than their run defense, so look for the Cowboys to lean on Ezekiel Elliott even more than usual. Gallup is a low WR3 in this matchup.
Travis Benjamin (hip), WR, Los Angeles Chargers vs. Denver Broncos, 4:05 p.m.
Even with Dontrelle Inman on IR, Benjamin is hard to trust as a fantasy option unless Mike Williams is out. Benjamin missed Week 4 with the hip injury, and even though it looks like he'll be active this week, he is just a WR4.
