Week 7 DFS Wide Receiver Studs: Chase, Hill, Adams Will Boost Lineups

DraftKings and FanDuel players looking to bolster their lineups with stud wide receivers need to start with these playmakers.

The top end of the wide receiver pool is loaded with star power after six weeks. Five players are averaging more than 20.00 fantasy points per game – Stefon Diggs – 25.10, Cooper Kupp – 24.97, Tyreek Hill – 22.33, Justin Jefferson-21.06 and Davante Adams – 20.16). In Week 7, three of the top four wideouts are on a bye, while Marquise Brown will be out for multiple weeks after getting placed on injured reserve.

Week 7 Positional Rankings: QB I RB I WR I TE I DST I K I Flex

Ja’Marr Chase, Cincinnati Bengals (DraftKings – $8,200/FanDuel – $8,500)

After his best game (7/132/2), Chase moved to sixth in wide receiver scoring (109.90 fantasy points). He trails Stefon Diggs by 181 yards and Cooper Kupp by 17 catches. The Bengals gave him double-digit targets in four of his six starts (16, 10, 12, and 10). Chase had his first catch of 40-plus yards last week (eight in 2021). The Falcons fell to 30th against wide receivers (92/1,077/8). Cooper Kupp (11/108/2) had the best success vs. the Falcons, and two other wide receivers had a pair of scores (Michael Thomas – 5/57/2 and Brandon Aiyuk – 8/83/2). Chase will be active again this week while on a path to gain 100-plus yards with a score.

Davante Adams, Las Vegas Raiders (DraftKings – $8,700/FanDuel – $8,600)

The Kansas City Chiefs held Adams to only three catches on seven targets, but he beat them for two long scores (58 and 48 yards). His touchdown production (5) remains high while averaging 10.8 targets. However, his catch rate (53.7) is well below his previous six seasons (68.2). Houston ranks 10th defending the wide receiver position (55/812/1 on 95 targets), with their best success coming on the road (DEN – 11/181, CHI – 4/54, and JAC – 11/127). Despite the appearance of success vs. wideout, four players gained over 100 yards (Michael Pittman Jr. – 9/121/1, Courtland Sutton – 7/122, Mike Williams – 7/120, and Marvin Jones Jr. – 7/104). The Raiders will score in this game, giving Adams a high-volume opportunity with a touchdown expected.

Tyreek Hill, Miami Dolphins (DraftKings – $8,000/FanDuel – $8,400)

Despite the quarterback jockey in Miami over the past four weeks, Hill still delivered two impact games (10/160 and 12/177). His only scoring came in Week 2 (11/190/2). He is on pace to set career highs in catches (142), receiving yards (1,986), and targets (184). In his two games last season against the Steelers, Hill had two short outcomes (2/19 and 5/57/1). In 2022, Pittsburgh has the worst defense vs. wide receivers (86/1,263/9 on 139 targets), with most of the damage coming in three contests (CIN – 17/194/2, NE – 18/232/1, and BUF – 18/389/4). Five wideouts gained more than 100 yards (Ja’Marr Chase – 10/129/1, Nelson Agholor – 6/110/1, Amari Cooper – 7/101/1, Stefon Diggs – 8/102/1, and Gabe Davis – 3/171/2). With Tua Tagovailoa returning this week and Miami having a primo matchup for its passing attack, Hill looks to outperform his projections.
