The top three names in my Week 1 fantasy football wide receiver rankings are likely no surprise. The fourth, however, might be a bit of a shock.
That is because the fourth is Michael Pittman Jr., whom I have far higher than the Expert Consensus Rankings (ECR). Last season, Pittman more than doubled rookie-year numbers. He hauled in 88 passes for six touchdowns and almost 1,100 receiving yards.
And that was with Carson Wentz as his quarterback. Many believe Matt Ryan to be an upgrade, which bodes well for Pittman. Even if he sees no uptick due to the quarterback change, Pittman should still have a solid week due to the matchup.
Houston was the ninth-most generous team last year when it came to giving up fantasy points to wide receivers. The Texans could definitely struggle again this season, giving Pittman plenty of opportunities to rack up fantasy points.
