How bout that Corey Davis call in my fantasy football wide receiver rankings for Week 13? Of course he was on an opposing team who knocked me from the ranks of a first-round bye after our game this past weekend. Nothing I can do, got to move on. So onto the Week 14 wide receiver rankings, shall we?
Interesting week for the WR rankings as I have several pairs of teammates ranked closely together and more so than I can remember for any other week this season. Not a ton of deviations in my rankings this week versus the Expert Consensus Rankings (ECR), so that jumped out more than anything else this week. Looking at my half-point-PPR rankings, three pairs in particular jumped out.
The first was the Atlanta pair of Julio Jones and Calvin Ridley. It sounds like both will be 100 percent healthy coming into this game and I don't remember the last time we could say that. With 13 TDs, 160-plus catches and more than 2,200 yards already, you can understand why I have them both in the top 10.
Just below them and still in the WR1 range is the Vikings' duo of Justin Jefferson and Adam Thielen. They have 61 and 57 receptions, respectively. Few teams have been hotter throwing the ball than Minnesota and Tampa Bay is giving up the ninth-most fantasy points to WRs this season. But with Jefferson the yardage monster (1,039 already) and Thielen with 12 touchdowns, I don't see the Buccaneers' defense's statistical performance getting any better.
Of course, that game could become a high-scoring affair with the Vikings giving up the third-most fantasy points to WRs. Mike Evans and especially Chris Godwin have had their health issues this year, and Godwin just had the pins in his surgically repaired finger removed, so that bears watching. But assuming both play on Sunday, the duo should be able to build on their solid production in a game Tampa Bay really needs.
