As we all predicted, the top five wide receivers in terms of fantasy football in Week 1 were Sammy Watkins, DeSean Jackson, John Ross, Marquise Brown, and DeAndre Hopkins. If history has taught us anything, it's that one of those guys (or at least someone else in the top 20) just had the best game of their season. Fantasy owners are going to rush to the waiver wire hoping for repeat success and not find it again this year. However, predicting who will continue to succeed and who will just go downhill from here is nearly impossible.
Thankfully, most wide receivers got through the week without any major injuries. Tyreek Hill was the most notable with a fractured collarbone. He'll miss some time, and when he does, Watkins will step up. Kansas City will also likely use Mecole Hardman and Travis Kelce, but Watkins is a WR1 while Hill is out. He's ranked No. 8 and should be in all fantasy lineups.
