Michael Crabtree broke out in a big way with three TD catches in Week 2
It seemed like was just yesterday that fantasy football season started, but here we are already with the wide receiver rankings for Week 3. The position doesn’t seem to the dominant force in the early going it has been in recent seasons.
Odell Beckham Jr. did play on Monday night, but he was limited to a pedestrian 39 yards. The Bengals’ inept offense has killed A.J. Green’s fantasy numbers, and Week 1 stud Stefon Diggs was non-existent without an injured Sam Bradford at quarterback.
Antonio Brown remains solid, but even he didn’t flourish against the Vikings, while Julio Jones started big against the Packers but game script devoured his chances at finding the end zone or breaking 100 yards.
So what is in store for Week 3? The good news is that the matchups look good for Brown, Jones and Green. This also could be the week Brandin Cooks dominates with New England set to take on Houston’s banged-up secondary. Amari Cooper is currently playing second fiddle to Michael Crabtree (3 TD catches last week) in the Raiders’ pecking order, but that could change this week too.
Time will tell, and of course injuries (both to WRs as well as other positions) will continue to impact these rankings, so stay tuned.
