After a slow start, A.J. Green exploded against Green Bay in Week 3
Simply put, Week 3 was a doozy for wide receivers on the fantasy football front. A.J. Green showed up in a big way (10 rec., 111 yds., TD) at Lambeau Field, making Green Bay’s secondary look bad in the process. (He also was the only player I hit on for DFS last week for anyone who’s been reading my lineup suggestions.)
Antonio Brown (10-110-1) also scorched an equally vulnerable NFC North team’s secondary, although Chicago had the last word in beating Pittsburgh in overtime. Elsewhere, T.Y. Hilton (7-153-1) rose from the dead and had a great game that many fantasy owners (including me) probably weren’t able to reap the benefits of since he was languishing on their bench.
Sammy Watkins (6-106-2) made his presence felt in a big way for the Rams and the always-reliable Larry Fitzgerald (13-149-1) shined in the Monday night spotlight. But it was Stefon Diggs (8-173-2) who put up the biggest numbers of any wide receiver, which was surprising because it was Case Keenum and not Sam Bradford at quarterback for Minnesota.
So after a doozy of a week what’s in store for Week 4? Perhaps more of the same as Green checks in atop the wide receiver rankings thanks in part to a matchup against the Browns. The Packers’ wideouts should be in line for some nice numbers on Thursday night against the same Bears secondary that Brown torched last week. Depending on Randall Cobb’s status that could make Geronimo Allison a viable starting option besides the usual suspects (Jordy Nelson, Davante Adams).
