Julio Jones and the Falcons' offense looks to get back on track against New England
Believe it or not, but it is Week 7 of the fantasy football season already and for most of us it is crunch time and wins (maybe getting a little more out of our wide receivers) are everything. For some of us, the season may very well be over. But there are still plenty of games to be played, lineups that need to be filled as well as bye weeks and/or injuries that need to be navigated.
With just Detroit and Houston on bye in Week 7, the rankings aren’t impacted as much by that, although fantasy owners will certainly miss DeAndre Hopkins, Golden Tate (who’s going to miss more than one game because of a shoulder injury), and even Will Fuller and Marvin Jones Jr.
As for those wideouts that are playing, New Orleans’ matchup with Green Bay puts Michael Thomas clearly in the top 10 while the Packers are a bit of unknown with Aaron Rodgers out for the season. Admittedly the Saints are not the same caliber of defense as the Vikings, but no one can dispute the massive drop-off at quarterback with the unproven Brett Hundley taking over, not to mention New Orleans’ defense has been playing well lately.
Even with Julio Jones’ recent struggles, I refuse to not include him in my top five. Perhaps this Super Bowl rematch with New England will be the jolt the Falcons’ offense needs. If that’s the case, Jones should be right in the thick of it.
Teams on bye: Detroit, Houston
