The Week 8 fantasy football wide receiver rankings have arrived. Before I dig in, let me offer a special thanks to fellow AthlonSports.com fantasy contributor Sarah Lewis for filling in for me in my absence.
This week there are several massive matchups with high scores projected. This should equate to fantasy production from the wide receiver position, especially in the Packers vs. Rams and Saints vs. Vikings games.
Adam Thielen can't stop putting up 100-yard games and he should keep the streak going given New Orleans issues against the pass this season. For that reason, Thielen checks in at No. 1. It is difficult to argue there is a better fantasy wideout in the game right now. He just might be the best at his position when it comes to the NFL side too.
The top 15 looks relatively pretty much the same, but after that the picture gets a little murkier. Tom Brady Josh Gordon this week so is he ready for his breakout game? Will just one, or all of the Rams' receivers scorch the Packers this week? It may depend on whether Gurley does the heavy lifting (and gobbles up all the TDs) himself again.
We are in the middle part of the schedule and with the byes, injuries and other factors (such as trades), it may be getting tougher for owners to set their lineups compared to the start of the season. Hopefully these rankings will help with those tough decisions.
As always be sure to check back closer to Sunday for any last-minute tweaks to these rankings.
Teams on bye: Atlanta, Dallas, Los Angeles Chargers, Tennessee
