Imagine how good Davante Adams' numbers would look if he hadn't already missed two games
Since the differences between me and the ECR (Expert Consensus Rankings) for these Week 9 fantasy football wide receiver rankings are minimal, let's talk about the guy I have at the top of the heap this week: Davante Adams.
Do you realize how good Adams has been this year? He's the seventh overall among wide receivers in PPR points this season, but recall that he missed two games due to injury and he has had his bye. When you look at fantasy points per game, Adams jumps up to the fourth overall spot.
Despite playing fewer games than most of the other top WRs, Adams is still in the top 20 for receiving yards. He's tied for the lead in touchdown catches (five in the past two games helped him make up a lot of ground). And for those of you in PPR leagues, he's 10th overall in receptions. Given that other players like Robby Anderson and Allen Robinson still haven't had their bye, I would expect Adams to quickly end up in the top five in catches as well.
Given that Adams sometimes slipped to an early second-round pick in drafts this year, the returns on him have been pretty good!
Teams on bye: Cincinnati, Cleveland, Los Angeles Rams, Philadelphia
