The 2020 Sentry Tournament of Champions is set for Jan. 2-5 at the Plantation Course at Kapalua Resort in Kapalua, Maui, Hawaii. That means it's time to pick your optimal DraftKings fantasy golf lineup. Fortunately, our fantasy golf experts are ready to help.
Here's what our best 2020 Sentry Tournament of Champions lineup looks like in this week's golfer predictions:
Dustin Johnson ($10,100)
DJ had knee surgery in September, but that just makes him a little cheaper this week. He returned to competition at the Presidents Cup, picking up a pair of critical points, including a singles win. Talk about a course horse — he's won this event twice (2013, 2018) and finished T4 last year. Two years ago, he hit one of the greatest shots in golf history at the par-4 12th at Kapalua, nearly holing his tee shot. Tap-in eagles might be rare for DJ this week, but birdies won't be.
Gary Woodland ($9,300)
Our emphasis on bombers continues with the reigning U.S. Open champion, the only 2019 major winner in the field this week. Woodland earned 1.5 points at the Presidents Cup in his first appearance on a U.S. team in international competition, and he's off to a solid start to the 2019-20 season — a T3 at the CJ Cup and a solo fifth at the ZOZO, not to mention a T7 at the unofficial Hero World Challenge.
Matt Kuchar ($8,400)
Kooch was last seen clinching the Presidents Cup for captain Tiger Woods, redeeming what was a mixed bag of a 2019, so he comes in on an emotional high looking to put 2019's controversies behind him. The bombs-away nature of the event doesn't really suit his low-and-slow style, but he does have a career-best third-place finish here (2010) on his ledger, and he finished T19 here a year ago.
Cameron Champ ($8,200)
Kooch is a mere palate-cleanser on our roster of sluggers; now, back to our regularly scheduled programming. Champ can crank it with anyone — he led the Tour in driving distance in 2018-19 (317.9) and was 6th in SG: Off-the-Tee. Freshly engaged, Champ is off the dating market but is ripe for the taking in fantasy this week. Finished T11 here last year.
Corey Connors ($7,800)
Players will be yanking driver with abandon this week, and with that in mind, we like the guy who leads the Tour in SG: Off-the-Tee. The winner of the 2019 Valero Texas Open, Connors is comfortable in the windswept conditions he'll encounter at Kapalua. Has four top 25s in five appearances on the young 2019-20 season.
J.B. Holmes ($6,200)
J.B. will be cleared for launch this week at Kapalua, so look for a couple of 400-yarders out of the 2019 Genesis winner, who's gotten more attention of late for the speed of his play (or lack thereof) than the quality. Clearly, he's a cheap flyer, but he's always capable of overpowering a few par 5s.
