The Farmers Insurance Open golf tournament is set for Jan. 25-28 at Torrey Pines Golf Club South in San Diego, Calif. That means it's time to pick your optimal DraftKings fantasy golf lineup. Fortunately, our fantasy golf experts are ready to help.
Here's what our best Farmers Insurance Open 2018 lineup looks like:
Jon Rahm ($11,800)
Okay, Jon. You’ve convinced us. Finishes of 1-2-1 in his last three tournaments have propelled Rahm to No. 2 in the world and No. 1 in our fantasy hearts this week. Since his MC at the U.S. Open, he has three wins and nine total top 10s. He’s simply playing at an insane level right now.
Gary Woodland ($8,600)
He’s batting 1.000 at the Farmers — 8-for-8 in cuts made — and is coming off a tidy top 10 at the Sony. He’s eighth on Tour in GIR and just needs a couple more putts to fall to pop onto the first page of the leaderboard.
Charles Howell III ($8,300)
How’s this for course-horse consistency: 15 trips to Torrey and 15 checks cashed for CH3, with three runner-ups and seven top 10s. We’ll take that all day long and twice on this coming Sunday.
Charley Hoffman ($7,200)
The Hoff has missed only one cut at the Farmers since 2012. He can find another gear at a moment’s notice, but he can also self-destruct without warning. That kind of risk-reward is what makes the hobby frustratingly fun.
Kyle Stanley ($7,400)
Stanley still carries some Torrey baggage after Van de Velde-ing the 2012 Farmers with a 72nd hole triple and subsequent playoff loss. But he’s posted top 25s in seven of his last nine tournaments and has back-to-back top 25s at the Farmers. That current form and his unfinished business at Torrey make him an intriguing play.
Corey Connors ($6,600)
He has yet to miss a cut in his career. Granted, his career consists of only seven tournaments. At this price, we’re only asking the rook to survive and advance to Sunday.
