Follow Arch Manning and the Newman Greenies on SBLive as they travel to New Orleans for an important district game against King Charter

Arch Manning and the Newman Greenies are back in action this week with a big district matchup against King Charter on the road in New Orleans.

Newman (6-1) is coming into this game off of a win over Metairie Park Country Day in its first district game of the season, and the Greenies could put themselves in a good position for the postseason with their second straight district win this week.

They will be facing King Charter (6-2), who dropped its first district game of the year last week and needs to avoid falling to 0-2 in the district standings with the final week of the regular season looming.

Newman senior Arch Manning is the nephew of Super Bowl winners Peyton and Eli Manning and the grandson of former NFL quarterback Archie Manning.

As the No. 1 recruit in the class of 2023 and a Texas commit, he's poised to shine at the next level, but he still has his eyes set on helping Newman win a Louisiana Class 2A state championship.

He has been the engine that powers the Greenies' offense with more than 1,500 passing yards and 24 total touchdowns this season, and he continues to break records, set the now Newman school record for touchdowns with his 129th career score last week.

The Greenies are currently ranked No. 9 in the Louisiana high school football rankings, and their only loss of the season came against undefeated and No. 2 ranked Many.

If Maning and Newman can keep things rolling with a win over King Charter this week, they should secure a bye in the first round of the Class 2A playoffs.

Don't miss any of the action.
