Braves' Freeman sidelined with wrist injury

Washington, DC (SportsNetwork.com) - Atlanta Braves first baseman Freddie Freeman was placed on the 15-day disabled list Tuesday with a right wrist injury.

Freeman last played on June 17 against Boston and has already missed four games because of the injury. He had played 243 consecutive games before sitting out last Thursday.

An MRI exam during Atlanta's off day on Monday revealed only a contusion.

Freeman leads the Braves with 12 homers and 41 runs batted in while also topping the club with a .299 batting average in 66 games.

The Braves have recalled outfielder Joey Terdoslavich from Triple-A Gwinnett to fill the vacant roster spot. Kelly Johnson started the last four games at first base with Freeman sidelined.
