Cards activate Lynn from DL

Miami, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - St. Louis Cardinals pitcher Lance Lynn was activated off the 15-day disabled list before Thursday's start against the Miami Marlins.

Lynn had been sidelined with a right forearm strain since his last outing on June 7. He'll enter Thursday's game with a record of 4-4 and a 3.07 ERA in 12 starts.

The Cardinals optioned pitcher Tyler Lyons to Triple-A Memphis to open a roster spot.

Lyons started twice in Lynn's absence, winning outings against Kansas City and Philadelphia. He also made three starts without a decision in May and this season has a mark of 2-0 with a 5.09 ERA in five games for the Cardinals.
