Fantasy Baseball Cheat Sheet: Third Base Rankings for 2018

If only one word could be used to describe the third base options in fantasy baseball for 2018 a good choice would be talent. There is plenty of it at the hot corner throughout out the top 10 as well as with some new names.

How deep is third base? Consider that Jose Ramirez, No. 2 in my second base rankings, also checks in as a top-five option at third base, ahead of a former MVP in Josh Donaldson. And don’t forget that Freddie Freeman, a top-five first baseman, also played enough at third to be eligible there in 2018. So he’s in here too.

As for the cream of the crop it’s Nolan Arenado without a doubt and by a significant margin over Kris Bryant in my opinion. Alex Bregman has the most room for improvement and appears on the verge of a breakout season. He will no doubt be a popular pick and will probably only see his ADP rise as we get closer to Opening Day.

So while landing one of the top five third basemen is ideal, even if you end up with someone in the top 15 you should be in decent shape. So as tempting as it may be to grab one of the studs early, don’t panic because there are plenty of options to choose from.

Either way I hope these rankings help you build your tiers and with your draft prep for the 2018 season. These will change as spring training progresses and teams adjust their rosters.
