Philadelphia Phillies Injury Report - August 31st

The latest injury news and updates for the Philadelphia Phillies.

The Philadelphia Phillies (79-56) remain locked in battle with a divisional rival this weekend with far fewer members of their roster on the injured list. With 27 games remaining in the season, here is the latest injury news and updates for the Philadelphia Phillies.

Day-to-Day

3B Alec Bohm

Bohm (sore left hand) did not start Friday night's game after leaving Thursday's game early after feeling discomfort in his left hand while swinging the bat in the first inning. It is currently unclear if Bohm will be back in the lineup on Saturday, but if he is not, he may be available to pinch-hit.

Restricted List

LHP Jose Alvarado

Alvarado (1-5, 4.30 ERA; personal matter) rejoined the team on Friday after leaving on Monday. The lefty played catch upon returning on Friday and is scheduled to throw off the mound on Saturday. The club is expected to reinstate Alvarado on Sunday.

10/15-Day Injured List

None.

60-Day Injured List

RHP Spencer Turnbull

Turnbull (3-0, 2.65 ERA; right lat strain) and the Phillies are running out of time to get him back into the bullpen before the end of the season. The club still thinks that Turnbull could contribute at some point this season. The righty is recovering in Clearwater, Florida. His timeline to return was pushed back after experiencing a setback in his rehab in early August.

RHP Andrew Painter

Painter (Tommy John surgery) is throwing bullpen sessions in Clearwater, Florida. He experienced soreness in his right elbow in August, but that is to be expected when recovering from Tommy John surgery. He will not be activated this season.
