Previewing The New York Yankees’ Series Against The Oakland Athletics
The New York Yankees start a three-game series against the Oakland Athletics at the Oakland Coliseum on Friday.
The two teams met at Yankee Stadium back in April. The Yankees and A’s each won two games as the Bronx Bombers were competing for the league’s best record at the time.
Not much has changed since then for either ballclub. The Yankees have a 0.5-game lead over the Cleveland Guardians for the American League’s top seed. The A’s have already been eliminated from the playoffs and are about to start their last-ever home stand in Oakland. The team will relocate to Sacramento in 2025 before eventually moving to Las Vegas in 2028.
The Yankees won two of three games against the Seattle Mariners to start their road trip. They clinched a playoff spot after their win on Wednesday night. The Bronx Bombers hold a four-game lead over the Baltimore Orioles for first place in the AL East. The division rivals play each other next week.
The Yankees have allowed three or less runs in each of their past four games. The A’s have scored more than three runs in three of their past five games.
