What Does The New York Yankees’ Lineup Look Like For Game 1 Of The World Series?

The New York Yankees release their Game 1 lineup of the World Series against the Los Angeles Dodgers.

The New York Yankees have released their lineup for Game 1 of the World Series.

The Bronx Bombers played their last game on Saturday. They defeated the Cleveland Guardians in five games to advance to their first World Series since 2009.

The Dodgers finished the regular season with MLB’s best record. They defeated the San Diego Padres and New York Mets to win the NL pennant.

Aaron Boone’s Game 1 starting lineup is as follows:

  1. 2B Gleyber Torres
  2. RF Juan Soto
  3. CF Aaron Judge
  4. DH Giancarlo Stanton
  5. 3B Jazz Chisholm Jr.
  6. 1B Anthony Rizzo
  7. SS Anthony Volpe
  8. C Austin Wells
  9. LF Alex Verdugo

The Dodgers will send Jack Flaherty to the mound. The team acquired the righty at the MLB trade deadline from the Detroit Tigers. He is 1-2 with a 7.04 ERA in this year's postseason.

Soto’s three-run home run in the top of the tenth inning of Game 5 of the ALCS is the hit that sent the Yankees to the World Series. The slugger is in search of his second World Series title and will be playing Friday on his 26th birthday.

Stanton was named the ALCS MVP after hitting four home runs during the five-game series. He will look to continue his power surge into the Fall Classic as he bats fourth in Game 1.

Volpe has reached base safely in each of the first nine playoff games of his career. His .804 OPS has been a solid contribution from the bottom half of the Yankees’ lineup and he will once again slot in as the team’s seventh hitter on Friday.

Game 1 between the Yankees and Dodgers is set for Friday at 8:08 p.m.
