What Does The New York Yankees’ Lineup Look Like For Game 2 Of The World Series?
The New York Yankees have released their lineup for Game 2 of the World Series.
The Bronx Bombers fell 6-3 in the series opener. The game was tied 2-2 heading into extra innings. The Yankees took a one-run lead in the top half of the inning but a Freddie Freeman grand slam gave the Dodgers the Game 1 victory.
Aaron Boone’s Game 2 starting lineup is as follows:
- 2B Gleyber Torres
- RF Juan Soto
- CF Aaron Judge
- DH Giancarlo Stanton
- 3B Jazz Chisholm Jr.
- 1B Anthony Rizzo
- SS Anthony Volpe
- C Austin Wells
- LF Alex Verdugo
The Dodgers will send Yoshinobu Yamamoto to the mound. He went 7-2 with a 3.00 ERA during the regular season and has made three postseason starts for the Dodgers. Yamamoto has allowed 11 hits and seven runs in 12.1 innings in October.
Judge went 1-5 with a trio of strikeouts in the opening game of the series. He is batting just .167 through 10 postseason games. The captain will look to turn things around in his usual three-hole in the batting order.
Stanton was named the ALCS MVP after hitting four home runs during the five-game series. He then followed that up with a two-run homer on Friday. The slugger will look to continue his power surge into the Fall Classic as he bats fourth in Game 2.
The Bronx Bombers left 11 runners on base during Friday’s loss. The Dodgers only left for runners on the base paths.
Game 2 between the Yankees and Dodgers is set for Saturday at 8:08 p.m.
