What Does The New York Yankees’ Lineup Look Like For Game 3 Of The ALCS?
The New York Yankees have released their lineup for Game 3 of the American League Championship Series.
The Bronx Bombers hold a 2-0 lead in the series. They won both games at Yankee Stadium and will now play their first game at Progressive Field on Thursday.
Aaron Boone’s Game 3 starting lineup is as follows:
- 2B Gleyber Torres
- RF Juan Soto
- CF Aaron Judge
- DH Giancarlo Stanton
- 3B Jazz Chisholm Jr.
- 1B Jon Berti
- SS Anthony Volpe
- LF Alex Verdugo
- C Jose Trevino
The Cleveland Guardians will send Matthew Boyd to the mound. He has made two starts for the team during the playoffs. The lefty has thrown 6.2 scoreless innings and last pitched in Game 5 of the ALDS against the Detroit Tigers.
Berti will return to the lineup for the first time in the championship series. Anthony Rizzo started the first two games at first base.
Judge hit his first home run of the playoffs in Game 2 as the Yankees won 6-3. The captain is still just 3-18 in six postseason games, but he will look to add to his solid performance on Tuesday.
Stanton’s impressive postseason has moved him up in the batting order. The slugger has a pair of home runs and seven hits while driving in five runs.
Jose Trevino will make his first start of the postseason behind the plate. Austin Wells has gone 2-24 in postseason play.
Game 3 between the Yankees and Guardians is set for Thursday at 5:08 p.m.
