What Does The New York Yankees’ Lineup Look Like For Game 3 Of The World Series?
The New York Yankees have released their lineup for Game 3 of the World Series.
The Bronx Bombers trail the Los Angeles Dodgers 2-0 as they head back to Yankee Stadium. They fell 6-3 in the series opener as Freddie Freeman hit a grand slam in extra innings of Game 1. The Yankees were then held to four hits and two runs in a Game 2 loss on Saturday.
Aaron Boone’s Game 3 starting lineup is as follows:
- 2B Gleyber Torres
- RF Juan Soto
- CF Aaron Judge
- DH Giancarlo Stanton
- 3B Jazz Chisholm Jr.
- SS Anthony Volpe
- 1B Anthony Rizzo
- C Jose Trevino
- LF Alex Verdugo
The Dodgers will send Walker Buehler to the mound on Monday. He went 1-6 with a 5.38 ERA during the regular season and has made two postseason starts for the Dodgers. Buehler allowed six runs in Game 3 of the NLDS but pitched four scoreless innings against the New York Mets in the NLCS.
The only Yankee hitter to get a hit off of Yoshinobu Yamamoto in Game 2 was Juan Soto. He hit a home run in the third inning and gave the Yankees their only extra-base hit of the night. The slugger will once again bat second for the Bronx Bombers on Monday.
Judge went 1-5 with a trio of strikeouts in the opening game of the series which was followed by an 0-4 performance in Game 2. He is batting just .150 through 11 postseason games. The captain will look to turn things around in his usual three-hole in the batting order.
Trevino will make his first World Series start and his second of the postseason. Austin Wells is 4-41 in the playoffs and Trevino has a hit in three at-bats. He will slot into the eight-hole in the Yankees’ lineup.
Game 3 between the Yankees and Dodgers is set for Monday at 8:08 p.m.
