What Does The New York Yankees’ Lineup Look Like For Game 5 Of The ALCS?

The New York Yankees release their Game 5 lineup of the ALCS against the Cleveland Guardians.

The New York Yankees have released their lineup for Game 5 of the American League Championship Series.

The Bronx Bombers hold a 2-1 lead in the series. They won both games at Yankee Stadium before losing Game 3 via a walk-off home run in the tenth inning on Thursday. The team rebounded with an 8-6 win on Friday that featured three home runs. The Bronx Bombers play Game 5 at Progressive Field on Friday.

Aaron Boone’s Game 5 starting lineup is as follows:

  1. 2B Gleyber Torres
  2. RF Juan Soto
  3. CF Aaron Judge
  4. DH Giancarlo Stanton
  5. 3B Jazz Chisholm Jr.
  6. 1B Anthony Rizzo
  7. SS Anthony Volpe
  8. C Austin Wells
  9. LF Alex Verdugo

The Cleveland Guardians will send Tanner Bibee to the mound. He is making his second start of the series after he went 1.1 innings in Game 2. The righty allowed five hits and three runs (two earned runs) in the 6-3 Yankees win.

Juan Soto got the game started with a two-run home run in the first inning. He and Torres have been two of the team’s best hitters throughout the postseason and will look to continue their success in Game 5.

Stanton has hit more home runs than any American League player in the playoffs. He belted his fourth postseason home run on Friday and has the opportunity to have a long ball in three straight games on Saturday out of the clean-up spot.

Wells hit his first homer of the postseason Friday. He has gone just 3-30 in October but he remains behind the dish and batting eighth.

Game 5 between the Yankees and Guardians is set for Saturday at 8:08 p.m.
