What Does The New York Yankees’ Lineup Look Like For Game 5 Of The World Series?
The New York Yankees have released their lineup for Game 5 of the World Series.
The Bronx Bombers trail the Los Angeles Dodgers 3-1 ahead of Wednesday. They fell 6-3 in the series opener as Freddie Freeman hit a grand slam in extra innings of Game 1. The Yankees were then held to four hits and two runs in a Game 2 loss on Saturday, and they were shut out at Yankee Stadium on Monday. The Yankees responded with an 11-run performance in Game 4 to keep the series alive.
Aaron Boone’s Game 5 starting lineup is as follows:
- 2B Gleyber Torres
- RF Juan Soto
- CF Aaron Judge
- 3B Jazz Chisholm Jr.
- DH Giancarlo Stanton
- 1B Anthony Rizzo
- SS Anthony Volpe
- C Austin Wells
- LF Alex Verdugo
The Dodgers will send Jack Flaherty to the mound on Wednesday. He pitched 5.1 innings during Game 1 of the series. The righty has a 6.12 ERA in four playoff starts this year.
The Yankees hit three home runs on Tuesday, and none of them came from their big stars. Volpe hit a grand slam in the third to put the team in front. Wells and Torres also hit home runs to give the team insurance later in the game. All three players remain in the lineup for Game 5.
Judge drove in his first run of the World Series with a single in the eighth inning on Tuesday. He reached base safely twice and will look to get hot out of the three-hole in Game 5.
Game 5 between the Yankees and Dodgers is set for Wednesday at 8:08 p.m.
