Cincinnati Reds Face a Familiar Face, Will Try to Get Back on Track With Cruz

The Cincinnati Reds traded Frankie Montas to the Milwaukee Brewers at the trade deadline. He's back to lead his squad to victory.

After dropping both doubleheader games yesterday, the Cincinnati Reds need to get back on track against a team that has had their number of late. Losers of 11 of their last 15, Cincinnati turns to another bullpen day.

Fernando Cruz (3-8, 5.17 ERA) gets the ball for his second start on the year. Three days ago, he got the start against the Oakland A's and went three innings while allowing just one run off two hits. He struck out a season-high six batters for the Reds.

Over his last four outings, Cruz has pitched 6 1/3 innings and allowed just two runs (2.84 ERA) and six hits while striking out nine.

The reds lineup featuring a rare Jonathan India off day:

1.) LF Spencer Steer
2.) SS Elly De La Cruz
3.) CF TJ Friedl
4.) DH Ty France
5.) 1B Dominic Smith
6.) 2B Amed Rosario

Milwaukee will look to make it three-in-a-row against the Reds. Frankie Montas (6-9, 4.64 ERA) will make his first start against the Reds since being traded. It'll be his sixth start on the year with the Brewers. In those five previous starts, Montas has thrown 27 innings with a 3.33 ERA.

As a member of the Reds' pitching staff, Montas was the Opening Day starter and started 19 games. In those 19 starts, Montas recorded a 5.01 ERA. He was 4-8 but the Reds were 6-13 in his starts.

When he makes his start, it'll be his first against the Reds.

The Brewers' lineup will look to keep mashing after putting up 14 last night:

2.) LF Jackson Chourio
3.) C William Contreras
4.) 1B Jake Bauers
5.) SS Willy Adames
