Boston Red Sox at Houston Astros, 8:07 p.m. on FOX
ALCS Game 1, series tied 0-0
BOS: LHP Chris Sale (0-0, 45.00 ERA)

HOU: LHP Framber Valdez (0-0, 8.31 ERA)

Red Sox manager Alex Cora has yet to lose a playoff series and is starting his second ALCS with a bold choice in going with Sale. The southpaw only lasted one inning in his ALDS start and went 1 2/3 innings in his final regular-season start. Of course, Valdez has struggles of his own in his other 2021 postseason start, allowing four runs on seven hits over 4 1/3 innings.
