Spring training in Florida and Arizona is just around the corner
Most of the U.S. is in the grip of winter, but baseball fans can take heart in knowing that spring training in preparation for the 2019 MLB season is just around the corner. All 30 teams, including the Yankees, Cubs, Red Sox, Phillies, and Dodgers, are scheduled to report to their spring training facilities in Florida and Arizona the second week of February with Opening Day set for March 28. That will represent the earliest Opening Day in the game's history, beating last year's by one day.
The first teams to report to camp will be Oakland and Seattle with pitchers and catchers set to arrive on Feb. 10 and 11, respectively. This is because the A's and Mariners will open their season with two games in Tokyo, Japan on March 20 and 21. The rest of the pitchers and catchers are set to report on Feb. 12 and 13 with the exception of the Braves (Feb. 15).
Full squads will be present for all teams by Feb. 20 with the first spring training game scheduled for Feb. 21 and a full slate of action on Feb. 23. Whether your preference is Florida or Arizona, here is when and where all 30 teams will hold their spring training.
