Cincinnati, OH (Sports Network) - Nick Franklin hit a two-run home run to guide the Seattle Mariners to a 4-2 win over the Cincinnati Reds in the opener of a three-game set from Great American Ball Park.
Aaron Harang (4-7) gave up two runs on six hits over six innings to move to 3-0 against the Reds in his career. Michael Saunders hit a solo home run and drove in two for the Mariners, who have won three of four.
Joey Votto hit a solo home run and Shin-Soo Choo drove in the other run for the Reds, who were coming off a three-game sweep of San Francisco. Mike Leake (7-4) was charged with four runs on five hits in five innings to take the loss.
