Mike Moustakas hit a two-run home run while Alcides Escobar went 3-for-5 with an RBI and two runs scored for the Royals, who took two of three in the set.
Danny Duffy gave up two runs on eight hits over just 4 2/3 innings in the start, while Ryan Madson (1-1) got the win for 1 1/3 innings of scoreless relief.

Seattle got a couple back in the fifth on a sacrifice fly from Gutierrez, and when Nelson Cruz reached base on an error from Escobar, that scored Austin Jackson for a 7-2 lead.
Eric Hosmer singled in Escobar in the seventh to make it an 8-2 game.
The Kansas City bullpen allowed just one man to reach base over the final four innings, a two-out single from Mike Zunino in the ninth.
