Red Sox release Paulino

Fort Myers, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - The Boston Red Sox have released pitcher Felipe Paulino.

The 31-year-old right-hander appeared in four games for the Red Sox during spring training as a non-roster invitee and posted an ERA of 2.25 in four innings.

Paulino has a career record of 13-34 with a 5.22 ERA in 225 games, 152 of which have been starts, over parts of six big league seasons with the White Sox, Royals, Rockies and Astros since 2007. He was limited to just four games last season with the White Sox because of rotator cuff inflammation.
