Royals activate Duffy from DL for Wednesday start

Seattle, WA (SportsNetwork.com) - The Kansas City Royals activated pitcher Danny Duffy from the 15-day disabled list on Wednesday for his start against the Seattle Mariners.

Duffy hasn't pitched since May 16 and was placed on the 15-day DL nine days later thanks to left biceps tendinitis.

Prior to the setback, Duffy made eight starts for the Royals this season, going 2-3 with a 5.87 ERA.

The team cleared a roster slot by optioning pitcher Michael Mariot to Triple- A Omaha.
