Padres Notes: Machado Claps Back, Musgrove Pleads With Front Office, Friars Get Much-Needed Win
The Padres won their second in a row Saturday night, beating the Texas Rangers 4-0. San Diego scored all of their runs in the second inning when they loaded the bases with no outs and took advantage. For a team that has historically struggled with runners in scoring position, tonight was a positive sign.
Yu Darvish put on a masterful performance, throwing 9 strikeouts and only 2 walks across 6 scoreless innings.
In other news, Manny Machado challenged a reporter's claim that the Padres were desperate and Joe Musgrove made his case for why the Friars should refrain from dealing Josh Hader and Blake Snell.
