The drama of the NCAA softball tournament was high Saturday afternoon as the Gophers rallied and won on a walk-off home run in extra innings to defeat Georgia 2-1.

The heroes: Mackenna Partain with the game-tying RBI single in the bottom of the seventh, and Hope Brandner with the walk-off homer in the bottom of the eighth. 

Minnesota advances to the championship round of the Minneapolis Regional and will face the winner of Georgia, North Dakota State or Drake on Sunday at 3 p.m. The regional round is double elimination, and Minnesota is the only team without a loss.

With one win Sunday, the Gophers advance to the Super Regional which would again be played in Minneapolis against the winner of the Baton Rouge Regional, which features LSU, Monmouth, Texas Tech and Louisiana Tech. 

The Super Regional is a best-of-three series, with the winner qualifying for the Women's College World Series in Oklahoma City.
