Lynx blowout Mercury for fifth win of the season
In their first game since Wednesday night, the Lynx took down the Mercury 95-71, moving to 5-2 on the season.
The first quarter was a team effort for Minnesota, but seven straight points from Napheesa Collier to start the game sent a message to Phoenix, establishing a 21-12 lead after 10 minutes of play.
Quarter number two was much of the same story and the lead grew to 55-31 at the break. Courtney Williams led all scorers with 11 points and the Lynx shot a remarkable 46.5% from three-point range.
Phoenix fought back coming out of the break. Kahleah Copper and Sophie Cunningham led the Mercury in scoring but they were only able to shrink their deficit to 70-49.
