Byron Buxton, the No. 1 prospect in all of baseball, blasted a two-run walk-off home run for the Minnesota Twins' Double-A affiliate, the Chattanooga Lookouts, on Monday night.

Buxton's blast was one of only two hits for the Lookouts on the night; the other (a single) belonging to power-hitting prospect Miguel Sano.

After a slow start to the season, Buxton has taken off at the plate with a barrage of hits, including a string of four triples over four games last week. He was named the Southern League Player of the Week.

Entering Monday's game, Buxton put together a week's worth of hits that raised his batting average from .190 to .287, according to the official site of the Lookouts.

Lookouts manager, ex-Twins first baseman Doug Mientkiewicz, told the Times Free Press that while he's "starting to see the full capability of this kid," he would prefer to see Buxton spend the entire season at Double-A.

"I would like to see him here the whole year, and that has nothing to do with me as a manager," Mientkiewicz said. "I want to see him have success, and too many times in baseball and in general today, these kids have a good two weeks and they move them. They are going to play a long time, so let them build that huge snowball of confidence to where nothing can deter them once they struggle again.

"His time is coming, and it's going to be sooner than later for sure."
