Adrian Peterson to participate in OTAs, Vikings to be at 100 percent
The Minnesota Vikings will kick off their offseason program on Tuesday and they expect to be at full strength for it.
Adrian Peterson is planning to join the Vikings as the team gets its first 11-on-11 work of the offseason. The news means the Vikings will have a chance to test out their new toys on offense.
The Vikings added wide receiver Laquon Treadwell in the first round of the NFL draft and brought in offensive linemen Alex Boone and Andre Smith to support Peterson and starting quarterback Teddy Bridgewater during the offseason.
Peterson has been sending some mixed messages about his desire to participate in the offseason programs. At one point, he said he feels like the Vikings can be Super Bowl contenders this year and has even expressed interest in carrying the ball a few times during the preseason.

But at the same time Pro Football Talk notes that he's said on multiple occasions recently that the demands of training camp ultimately could bring about the end of his career. He said this to PFT Live on NBC Sports Radio earlier this month:
"I think it's just going away and being away from your family for a good period of time and it's just a grind. It's nothing like it was when I first came into the league, so I thank God for that. Just the mental grind, you know? Getting up early for workouts and then the meetings. After the first practice you get a little short break to eat and a little time to rejuvenate then you're right back in meetings and then you got another practice. You're doing that every day. So after ten years of it I can sit here and say I'm getting kind of tired of it."
The Daily Norseman notes that with Peterson set to report to OTAs it appears the Vikings are looking to have 100 percent attendance over the next few weeks.
