Everson Griffen takes shot at 'lazy' Lions left tackle
Vikings defensive end Everson Griffen might have wakened a sleeping giant by calling out the man he'll line up against during Sunday's game against the Detroit Lions.
"To be quite honest, (he's) kind of lazy," Griffen said when asked about Lions left tackle Greg Robinson, according to Chris Tomasson of the Pioneer Press. "He's lazy. He gets beat on the inside. I think the biggest thing is he just has to compete more. But yeah, he's pretty lazy. I think the rest of the offensive line, they do pretty well, but to me he's kind of lazy."
Robinson has sleeping giant-like potential. Although Pro Football Focus rates him as the second worst tackle in the NFL this season, he was the No. 2 overall pick in the 2014 draft.
According to the Detroit News, Robinson has allowed pressure on the quarterback 14 times this season. That's a lot for just three games.
