Firms line up to manage construction of new Vikings Stadium
Six firms will be in the running to manage construction of the new Minnesota Vikings football stadium. The Associated Press reports that the Minnesota Sports Facilities Authority released a list of firms that attended a pre-proposal meeting for prospective construction managers. The companies' proposals are due January 21, and the choice will be announced Feb. 1.
Minnesota companies on the list include Mortenson Construction, Kraus-Anderson, and Loeffler Construction. Gibane Building Companies of Rhode Island, Skanska of New Jersey and Hunt Construction of Arizona are also interested.
The $1 billion facility, to be built in downtown Minneapolis, is shooting for opening for the 2016 NFL season.
