Former Vikings offensive coordinator Norv Turner: 'I'm open to continue coaching'

Norv Turner, former Vikings offensive coordinator, tells SiriusXM he may not be done coaching.

Despite resigning as Vikings offensive coordinator after week 7 in 2016, Norv Turner told SiriusXM NFL Radio on Wednesday he might not be done coaching.

"I’ve had a couple (coaches) reach out to me and ask if I could come in for two or three days to just visit and maybe help a little bit or give some opinions, I'm open to continue coaching in the future. A lot of that would depend on the opportunity."

The Vikings were (5-2) through seven weeks when Turner surprised fans and the organization by walking away from coordinating duties.

Turner came into the coaching profession as a graduate assistant at the University of Oregon in 1975. He has been on a staff every year since, a pattern than ends with this upcoming season.

Turner claimed, "I'm looking forward to football season as a fan or spectator." However, the long-time coach admits, "there will always be that coaching part of it in me."

Football fans will have to wait until 2018 to see if the 65-year-old gets another opportunity to return to coaching the sport he has taught for the past 42 years.
